United Food Commercial Worker
By: Ehimwenma E. Aimiuwu
Dec 2007

United Food Commercial Worker – UFCW 1996 is the union that represents Kroger employees union and William Allen has sued them for their Old boy White network and nepotism.

Unions were formed to protect worker’s interests against their employers or economic oppressors.  A lot of Blacks love and enjoy union services because it protects them from racism at the work place and it prevents them from being the last to get hired and first to get fired or laid off.  Unfortunately, unions have become big businesses for many White Americans.  They are unions across the land that are either White only unions or White union managers only that pretend to work for workers or black worker’s interest.  Many of these unions do not have regular or any elections to elect their managers, instead they recycle themselves to maintain a White only status and even employee their siblings or relatives without advertising the positions.

Every union that is supposed to serve minorities and Blacks MUST be mainly filled and managed by minorities and Blacks.  The best person to fight for me is the one who is me and understands my situation better.  Every worker under a union must investigate their union to make sure it is not a White boy network, that elections are regular, and that the management of the union is filled with minorities that make up the company’s work force.  I hope William Allen will post a comment below to tell his story.
