Judges 10:
After God had saved Israel from so many enemies, in times of
peace and prosperity, Israel would still go worship other gods. This time
God told them not to cry to him because of the oppression of their enemies and
go to the gods (money, unholy alliance, instant gratification, and materialism)
they have been worshipping for safety. Soon God got tired of the way Israel was
been oppressed by its enemies (undeserved forgiveness from God).
Judges 11: Jephthah, son of a prostitute, was driven away from his father's house and
city by his legitimate brothers who claimed that he had no inheritance in their
father's house. Yet, when it mattered most, he was the one the people
approached to lead Israel to freedom. Everything, including the very
least, Black person, or woman is important in the eyes of God for majestic deeds
on earth. He made a promise to God that if he defeated his enemies that he
will give God the first thing that comes out of his house to welcome him when he
returns home. Behold it was his daughter, his only child, that came out
first. We must be careful about how we make promises to God or people.
May it not be a big issue when it is time to fulfill our promises.

The Political & Spiritual Purpose of the
Holy Land

Judges 12:
Israel fought against itself. The Gileadites and Ephraimites fought
against each other because the former went over the land of the later to conquer
the Ammonites without permission. The former claimed that they called the
later when they needed their help against the enemy, but got no response.
They fought and the Gileadites won. When the captured Ephraimites could
not pronounce certain words properly, they got killed. So dialect and
accent became an issue for the Jews. Help your brother when you can or
when he needs it. Do not go demand an apology when he never bothered you
or try to reap where you did not sow.
Judges 13:
Samson was a special child from God who was going to serve God from the womb,
had no razor touch his hair, and save Israel from 40 years of Philistine
oppression. Samson's parents wanted to see the angel who came before to
promised them the birth of Samson and the angel came again to affirm the word of
God. You can request the presence of God anytime and it will be granted as
long as you follow him and believe in him. |
