Isaiah 48:
Those who call themselves Israel
and come from Judah (only the Jews, not all Israel), who swear in my name, but in deceit, I spoke about your
future beforehand so that you will not give credit to idols. God says he will
send an enemy against Babylon and the colonizers and God will always show them
ahead of time what will happen, so that they know that God is the true God. It
seems God is stuck with his covenant with Jacob because I do not know why he has
to beg Israel to keep worshipping him and not make idols. God honor leaders that are just to the poor, needy,
widows, and fatherless.
Isaiah 49:
Isaiah says to the distant
nations and island that God called him before birth and made him God's servant
to Israel. Isaiah’s job was to gather Israel back to God and be a light to the
Gentiles. |

Isaiah 50:
God divorced Israel and sold her
because of her sins and disobedience, and not because the great God could not
rescue or protect Israel. God gave Isaiah his tongue and ears to get
instructions from God daily (every morning). Despite all the beatings and
mocking, God still strengthens him. Isaiah is very sure that he will not be
disgraced or put to shame because God is on his side and is also confident that
no accuser can face him. Those who are against him will perish by the very fire
they have lighted against him. A child of God goes through many troubles,
but his or her credibility is unquestionable even to his or her opposition.
