Obinna Nwachukwu

He was one of the favorite high jumpers for Yellow House in 1981-82. He had a unique style of jumping. He ran in a zig-zag manner towards the poles, flew at the corner of the bar instead of the middle, and bent his hands over his head to form a "<>" shape. Everyone called him "Mil Mascaras" because that was how the Mexican wrestler flew at his opponents.

Osayuki Obasohan

He was the undisputed champion of the school and Green House in 1981-82 in the 100 meters race. He was even taller than many teachers and was very shy. Many of the teachers encourage him to stretch his legs when he ran, but it was not his style.  He rolled his legs one over the other when he ran. He appeared to run very slow when you watched him, but no other pupil at the time could catch up to him.

Uyi Oronsaye

This was the surprise of the school in 1982. No body knew who he was and expected little from him. The main man was Bife of Red House because the tallest was supposed to be the fastest. He was the champion of Orange House and he won the 100 meters race and got the gold medal that was donated to the school for the race. Now we know better. We wait for the race to be over before we decide the winner.

Ewean Iyahen

He was the first soccer player many admired around 1981-82. He did not run much, but took powerful shot and had power plays. He would fly his shirt around his waist while playing soccer and his shirt would fly like Superman's cape around his waist.

Ikechekwu Erenuwonu

Ikechukwu means God's Power and that was what defined his life in those early days. Everything was just force and power even when playing with little children. He believed in winning and was very competitive. He represented Blue House in the relays between 1982-86.

Ernest Noamesi

The unexpected king of long Jump. In 1986, he single-handedly stole the attention of the school from short distance races to "jumping into the sand". Purple House was assured victory in the event, but unfortunately he was disqualified. Truthfully, no one jumped further than him in those days. Only God knows what really happened.

Ehimwenma Aimiuwu

He was house captain for Yellow House in 1986 and lifted the trophy for the house for coming first in the Marching parade. He also won the 200 meters that year and came 4th place in the 100 meters. He was a constant member in the replay teams for the house from 1982-86. The 200 meters was the highlight of his track event and was honored to run against the likes of Ose Ethiobio (Red), Omeza (Orange), Sheriff Momodu (Pink), Ifi Chidubem (Brown), and Samson Oyovbaire (Purple).

Anthony Odiachi

He was the magic of Pink House in 1985. He was soft spoken and very quiet. You wouldn't think he had much to offer. He enjoyed trying to lose younger pupils at break time to show how fast he was, but some caught up with him to show that they were fast too. In the 100 and 200 meters, he left everyone behind. They were truly no match for him. Some later said he had springs in his shoe that they used in Chinese movies because he really bounced when he ran. Should we believe the same people he embarrassed on the tracks?

Ivie Erhunmwunse

She was the Queen of the tracks in 1984 for Purple House and the school. She already dominated the 200 meters, but in the 100 meters, they made them run about 4 false races and she got tired. They were not 4 false starts. She won all 4 races and they were made to do the race again. She came I think third place in the final race. This was shameful to say the least. Regardless, she was still the undisputed champion to all at the stadium.

Patience Igbinosa

She was the Queen of the tracks in 1986 for Pink House and the school. She won both the 100 and 200 meters in an undisputed fashion. She was quiet and humble, but knew what she could accomplish with her legs. She worked hard and was quiet disciplined in her craft.

Ifi Chidubem

Without a doubt; Ifi was both the pride and glory of Brown House in 1986. He was supposed to be the king of the tracks that year. The 200 meters did not work out the way he would have liked, so everyone expected vengeance in the 100 meters. On inter-house sport day, Ifi refused to show up to wear his crown, so everyone went up by one position. He did not miss much anyway. It was a lousy 100 meters that should have been restarted because of false start. Nevertheless, he was a force to reckon with on the tracks.

Sheriff Momodu

This was a young man that made himself known as far back as 1983 when he won the 50 meters race. This made him the fastest boy in lower primary (primary 1-3). In 1986, he participated in the 100 meters were he came second and also took part in the 200 meters. He was very active for Pink house from 1982-86, especially in the relay races.

Victor Eke

Victor Eke through the years was supposed to be the best in our set, but for some reason, it seemed he did not show his best effort when the crowd was watching. I guess he was shy and intimidated. He came second in the 50 meters back in 1983 and came third in the 100 meters in 1986 for Purple House. He was also very active for his house.

Afolabi Sangosonya

This was a great athlete in his own right for Purple House. He had the best acceleration ever. I can't recall if he won anything for Purple House or participated in inter-house sports, but during school session, he was just plain awesome to watch.

Ebenezer Kio

The was one of the most brilliant pupil the school had at the time. Not only did he always come first in his class, but the teachers kept his notebook where he never missed a single grade. The teachers used his notebook to motivate future pupils towards excellence.
