Isaiah 36:

Assyria captured Judah and sent a request to Hezekiah, king of Judah, in Jerusalem asking who the king rely on?  Is it Egypt that cannot be trusted, your weak military strategy, or God, whose altar you have destroyed and replaced with idols?  It was God that told Assyria to attack Judah and Assyria will give Judah 2000 horses if Judah becomes Assyrian ally.  The commander of the Assyrian army then shouted aloud to the people of Judah to ignore their king because God was not going to deliver them. So God uses godless nations against another godless nation in an attempt to make get repentance and worshippers.

Isaiah 37:

Hezekiah, king of Judah, sends words to Isaiah about the offer of the Assyrian king to destroy Judah and mocked that God cannot deliver Judah from his hands. Isaiah assures the king that the Assyrians will get a report that will send them back home and there the Assyrian king will be cut offSoon, the Assyrian king got reports that the Ethiopian king of Egypt was coming to fight him, so he sent a message to Judah that no God can prevent their destruction like he destroyed other kingdoms.  This scared the king of Judah and he prayed to God.  Isaiah then told the king that because he prayed to God that God was going to fight on his behalf.  An angel of God then put 185,000 Assyrian men to death, so the king of Assyria had to return home.  While he was worshipping his god, the Assyrian king was assassinated. Never envy and fear any power of nations, people, or an individual because they cannot really guarantee their own life or the next minute.  Just do what is right by God's standard and ignore any consequences that may follow.  You will always see the wicked and their empire or corporations fall with time.

Isaiah 38:

Hezekiah, king of Judah, was dying, so Isaiah told him that God wanted him to put his house in order because he was going to die.  So the king prayed and cried to God and because of it, God added 15 more years to his life. Always pray to God and ask for assistance or guidanceNo one can guarantee anything but God The wealth, power, and promotion of humans are meaningless.  In fact, it is even better to walk away with nothing, faith, and peace of mind than to dwell in the reward from people.
