John 19:

Jesus was flogged and tortured by Roman soldiers. They placed a crown of thorns on his head and called him King of the Jews. Pilate told the Jews that he found Jesus innocent, but the Jews wanted Jesus killed because he claimed to be the Son of God. Pilate wanted to know where Jesus came from, but Jesus did not say. Pilate tried to free Jesus, but the Jews demanded that to set Jesus free was to oppose Caesar as king. Pilate asked the Jews if he should crucify their king, but the Jews said they had no king but Caesar. So Pilate believed that Jesus was the King of the Jews; it was the Jews that accepted Caesar as king. So Pilate prepared a sign to hang on Jesus' cross in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek. The sign read: Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. Pilate wanted to spite the Jews and he refused to change the sign even with the protest of the chief priests. Jesus died and was buried.

John 20:

Mary Magdalene informs Peter and John that the body of Jesus has been removed from the tomb. They went to the tomb and found Jesus' burial clothes, but no body. May stayed at the tomb and soon saw two angels and Jesus. Jesus told her to go tell the disciples that he was about to return to God. Jesus soon appeared to the disciples in a locked room because they were scared of the Jews and he showed them his hands and sides. Jesus breathed on them and gave them the Holy Spirit. He also sent them to preach and gave them the power of forgiveness. Jesus appeared to the disciples a week later and this time Thomas was with them. Thomas now believed because he saw Jesus, but Jesus blessed are those that believe but have not seen.

John 21:

The disciples went to fish and saw Jesus by the shores. Jesus made them catch lots of fishes and they soon realized that it was Jesus. The disciples got on shore with their huge catch and Jesus invited them for breakfast. So they ate bread and fish. This was Jesus' third appearance to them. Jesus charged Peter to take care of his sheep.

Acts 1:

Jesus showed the apostles proof that he resurrected and instructed them through the Holy Spirit for 40 days. Jesus told them to stay in Jerusalem until they are baptized with the gift of the Holy Spirit and they should be his witness around the world. Jesus was soon taken up into the sky in their presence and two angels came to remind them that Jesus will return to them. The disciples and Jesus family elected Matthias to replace Judas Iscariot.
