Marriage is the union of man
and woman with the hope of procreating their family. It is
not just coming together to create life in agreement, but also to plan for a
common future. It has been said that two heads are always
better than one. Every human has 46 chromosomes, of which 23
came from a woman (mother) and the other 23 came from a man (father).
So scientifically and spiritually, a complete and total development of
any procreated human requires a nurturing of both a man and a woman (hopefully
the parents). The masculine and feminine component of any
human requires a procreating guidance where possible to have an acceptable
balance within that human and the environment.
All civilized nations must
pass laws that encourage marriage for balance, harmony, and social sanity.
It does not only give the partners an opportunity to learn from each
other, but also enhances the full development of the children (adoption
considered), and respect between the sexes (assuming no oppressive parent).
It also gives an opportunity to increase family revenues, savings and
investments, as well as quality time spent with at least one parent if not both.
I know of families and cultures that marry very early (maybe 23), and
live off one parent’s income and invest the income of the other.
In about 10 years, they have a huge savings and enough wealth to invest
in any trade of their choice, compared to the culture that like to “play the
field” till they are about 40.
Statistics show that 65% of
Asian women are married; Whites have a rate of 60%, Hispanics have 55%, while
Black women have a marriage rate of 30%. Consider the fact
that Whites make up 69% of the population according to Wikipedia, Hispanic make
up about 15%, Blacks make up 12%, and Asian are about 4%.
This means that for every 100 American women, assuming men and women per race
are about 50-50, 2.6 out of 4 Asian women are married, 41.4 out of 69 White
women are married, Hispanics have 8.25 out of 15, and Black women have 3.6 out
of 12 who are married.
We can argue that slavery and
colonization affected Black marriages and our progress, but the issue becomes
what Blacks are doing to reverse this trend. Do Blacks even
see or care about their declining marriage rate or it has become a new way to
live. Good marriages may lead to more revenue, saving,
investment, and better planning from two different dimensions.
It can lead to peace of mind, assurance of a better future, and quality
time with children. It may also lead to higher quality
children who value education, quality marriage, togetherness, sharing, and good
communication skills. It may reduce or eliminate teenage
pregnancies, frequent jail/prison visits and boarding, high school dropouts, and
police brutality. The ultimate goal of marriage is to create
well developed, sound, and balanced descendants that are equipped to survive
political, social, and economic situations better than their predecessors.
