When I was a high school math
teacher in a predominately affluent White Republican school in Atlanta, Georgia
in 2003, I noticed that many of my brightest students did not even have the
dream of going to the reputable universities in their domain. Instead of
applying to universities such as Emory, Georgia State, or the University of
Georgia, they were more interested in some archaic sounding form of higher
education no one has heard off in the civilized world. I even went as far as
debating the issue with some of their parents, but they tried to convince me
that the costs were too high and that their children would be unable to meet
up. I also went as far as suggesting college grants, and even the almighty Hope
Scholarship, but they kindly turned down my benevolent concerns. As an American
with international upbringing, I could not figure out why the rich Whites took
for granted the very education institutions that foreigners always talked about
even in their countries, and would kill to get admission into these centers of
higher learning.
Now that the election for 2008
is about to come to an end, and I have being observing closely the mentality of
how and why the Republican base choose their leader. It has become evident to
me that the Republican Party does not only hate higher education, but is also
the reason why American will not fully achieve its destiny in the 21st
century. This is because the Republican Party is not a party for American
progress, but rather, it is a party that caters to a select few in the ideology
of White rule or White supremacy.
A sufficient and adequate higher
education does not only open the mind of an individual against bigotry, racism,
wars, and selfish acquisition of wealth at the expense of the country, but it
also encourages seeing a bigger idealistic picture from all perspectives, as
well as collaboration in a diverse environment. This obviously would destroy
the Republican tradition and heritage of White supremacy that is based on ONLY
White control with the aid of the gun through war against anything different,
and the isolated academic culture of bankrupting the country for themselves only
in the disguise of creating private jobs, social programs, and church based
initiatives. This is why the Republicans hate government interference and like
to keep things private. After all, if they bankrupt all of America only for
themselves, they will have the money to buy and sway voters to win again.
This is the only way McCain,
without a college education and finished basically dead last (beating just about
3 people) in a graduating class of about 1000 in the military with his father’s
connection, can still be tie with Obama, a Harvard graduate and a former
President of the Harvard Law Review, in America. After what President George
Bush and the Republican have done in the last 7 years by bankrupting America and
destroying American lives in Iraq, Americans of White supremacy are still
counting on electing McCain, a man that agreed with Bush 90% of the time in the
last 7 years.
It is time for Americans to wake
up and realize that the Republicans do not like Americans, especially of other
races and religions, but only themselves. Conservatism to them has nothing to
do with God, morality, American safety, or the great American traditions, but
rather, it has everything to do with the illiteracy of their base in order to
privatize their White supremacy ideals with the purpose of bankrupting America
only for the benefit of their members. Fear, terror, war, homosexuality, and
abortion are just the buttons they push to temporarily get a fraction of the
unconscious population to join them in choosing their leaders every 2 to 4
years. After that, that very unconscious population is relegated to the
background of becoming their employee, the unemployed, the homeless, or a
soldier hoping to have his school loans paid off by the military in search of
another Republican war for more non-White resources. |
