Abstract:
With the increase in the demand of online education, especially for working people, there is a need for institutions that offer online education to identify, target, and market their services to people who are in need of furthering their education or who would be interested in using online education to advance their careers. The aim of this paper is to explore how Business Intelligence (BI) can be utilized to enhance online education for profit and non-profit organizations. The goal is to identify, target, and market online education to an audience who may not have thought of online education, but will appreciate the opportunity.
Key Findings:
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) can be used for knowledge discovery from data of current students who have potential students within their family.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) can be used to find potential students from data of shopping centers within the locality of current students.
Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) processing is needed for better decision making.
Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), & Graphic User Interface must be acceptable to the analyst utilizing the data warehouse; Decentralized analysts are better.
Relational OLAP is preferred to Multi-dimensional OLAP because it has better PEU & PU analysis.
Data warehouse should be linked to the successful implementation of data quality, system quality, & perceived net benefit.
Encryption, access control, auditing, & authentication are essential for internet security of students’ information.
