What is the difference between hacking & cracking?
Hacking is breaking into computer systems without authorization while cracking is hacking with a criminal intent. Cracking and hacking codes and passwords in order to break into computer systems or bypass network security has become a huge problem over the internet and across world economies. Cracking and hacking have become more sophisticated with the help of software. Emails and Web services have been compromised numerous times to the extent that businesses have to apologize to customers and inform them about the cracking or hacking activity.
What are the disadvantages of hacking & cracking?
Cracking and hacking have led to all forms of identity theft based on social security number, student ID, age, address, phone, and email information. Private information derived from cracking and hacking can be sold to a third party, who ends up using all your information to perform any kind of criminal activity in your name and using your identity. These criminal activities can lead to destroying individual credit ratings needed to buy a home or a car. It can even lead to a person being arrested and given a criminal record for an activity a person legitimately knows nothing about. It can also lead to huge loss of money in the banking and financial systems.
How do we prevent hacking & cracking?
To prevent cracking and hacking activities, keep your passwords private, change passwords every 3 months, do not provide information to unwanted parties, and turn computer off frequently. Also, to protect your email, internet services, and web services, it is recommended that you avoid passwords within the languages of global trade that are spoken by millions and billions of people. It is also recommended that you avoid passwords that are used by many in the technological field, which increase the chances of the words that can be easily deciphered by software, crackers, or hackers.
How do we choose the best passwords?
The language of global trade includes languages like English, Arabic, French, Chinese, Spanish, Russia, Hindu, and Portuguese. Many European and Asian languages are languages spoken by many in the technological field. I would recommend knowing some words in any African language because most African languages are neither language of global trade or spoken by many in the technology field. I recommend going through the Edo language dictionary below and follow the 4 steps:
