The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Demonstration Secondary School (UDSS) is located in the south-west end of the University of Benin Main Campus. To the north of the institution is the Professor’s Quarters and the Farm Project. The west is bordered by Ekosodin Quarters. We have the University of Benin Main Gate and the Sports Complex to the east. To the south, we have the Benin-Lagos Express Way that runs between the school and the EDPA Housing Area.

The school was founded in 1981 and the first principal was Mrs. Iweze. Mr. Opene was her Vice-Principal, but later became the principal after her tenure. Mrs. Oboite, who was once our Chemistry teacher and Mrs. Ominiabohs, who was our former Math teacher, also served as principals later.

We have four houses for our inter-house sports competitions. There are King Jaja of Opobo, Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowder, Oba Erediauwa, and Usman Dan Fodio Houses. The school had many clubs for students and many won city, state and national competitions, which made the school very popular and respectable to the general public.

Some of the clubs included Chess, Science, Math, Debate, Drama, and Conservation clubs. The Conservation Club was one of the newest clubs at the time and it started around 1990. This was great foresight by the late Mrs. Izokun-Ethiobio (Geography teacher) and late Mr. Igbe (Agricultural Science teacher). They got many of their students involved in the planting of more trees around the school and even went to Warri in Delta State to performs at Shell oil company to promote the conservation of our environment in 1991 with the help of our drama director, Mr. Osawe Shashi. Our school experiences taught us to transfer knowledge from the classroom towards servicing our communities as we searched for various career and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The book is meant for people who are hopeful but seem not to have yet found their purpose on earth. This book will help enable people and communities to progress with a peace of mind towards their destiny.

Need daily devotion materials for you and your family early in the morning or late at night? I used this daily at night to instruct my children about want I expect from them now and into the future. We pray about the devotional message to a higher power, which makes them feel that the expectation is an achievable goal. It is very good at helping you and your family stay focused in improving your quality of life and making better decisions. Always use this daily!
